From August, 1995, to January, 2004, Larry Dew served the Eureka School District as our Assistant Maintenance Director. Many of us at Marshall remember Larry's time here fondly and recall the pride he brought to his job and the humor he added to the lives of all of us. After 81/2 years with the district, Larry felt called to a job that took him away from us. Larry has always served his country as a member of the Army National Guard. In January, 2004, he moved to Topeka and became the Food Commodities Manager for the Kansas Army National Guard. In March, 2006, Larry's Unit recieved orders to deploy to Iraq. The Unit spent an extended 6 month stay in Fort Hood, Texas, before leaving for Iraq in September, 2006. Larry is currently serving with the First 108th Aviation Battalion just north of Baghdad, where he oversees a DFAC (dining facility) that is in charge of providing for the civilian contractors in Iraq. The 108th is due back in the states around October 1, 2007.
We think of Larry and his family often. We pay tribute to Larry, and all troops serving our country so that we may continue to enjoy the freedoms with which we have been blessed.
Thank you Larry. Be safe, and God's speed!
